Join the Historical Society of Carroll County on Saturday, April 29th for a fabulous evening of dining and dancing at historic Emerald Hill, built in 1842 and owned by one of Carroll County’s founders, Colonel John K. Longwell.

In honor of Emerald Hill’s purchase by the City in 1939 for use as City Hall and the 75th anniversary of the release of the movie, “The Wizard of Oz,” HSCC presents its third annual Legacy Gala, The Land of Oz at Emerald Hill.  Step into your ruby slippers, carry your broom, bring your oil can, or pin a poppy on your lapel or a medal on your chest! Look for the yellow brick road!

The party will start at 6:00 p.m. with an open bar and signature cocktails. At 7 p.m., a catered dinner will be served by Paradiso Ristorante. The Colgan-Hirsh Band will provide music during the pre-dinner cocktail reception and for after-dinner dancing (9-11 p.m.). We encourage you to wear your cocktail attire or appropriate Oz-wear.

The Historical Society of Carroll County connects the past to the present and makes the County’s vibrant history tangible, relevant, and meaningful for today’s diverse communities and for generations to come.

As the Society’s primary fundraiser, Legacy Gala impacts the Historical Society in many ways including preserving our three historic buildings, caring for and displaying our county’s historical artifacts and documents, using our own expertise to help citizens research their genealogy, property and local history, and producing events that connect people with Carroll County’s heritage.

Sponsorships are available.  Please contact the Society’s Executive Director Gainor Davis at Gainor@HSCCmd.org or at 410-848-6494, ext. 202, for a sponsorship packet.
